R U OK? Day is fast approaching, this year it is important to check in on our family, friends and colleagues as a conversation can change a life. At COHR we are encouraging everyone to connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life.
Use the following four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:
1. Ask R U OK?
2. Listen
3. Encourage action
4. Check in
On Thursday the 9th of September, we are asking that all children wear a touch of Yellow to their classes Google Meet, to help raise awareness for R U OK? Day. It could be a yellow t-shirt, a yellow jumper, a yellow ribbon anything that is yellow. Your child’s classroom teacher may even have some activity planned for the day.
As a school, let’s embrace the day and ask someone R U OK? Get a conversation started and be an active listener as it may just change someone’s life.
